    The Communication Sciences Program within the Department of Psychological Sciences at Case Western Reserve University is seeking applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of assistant professor to begin AY 2024-2025. The department has a PhD program in communication sciences, a CAA accredited master's program in communication sciences (speech-language pathology), and a strong, diverse, and vibrant undergraduate program. Our PhD, MA, and BA graduates have a strong history of attaining tenure-track faculty positions, clinical faculty positions, and research director positions, have secured nationally competitive clinical fellowship placements, and are consistently admitted into top graduate programs for SLP and audiology, respectively. In 2022, our NSSLHA chapter received Chapter of the Year from National NSSHLA, and the chapter has Gold honors for the last 5 years. In addition, the department has both an APA accredited PhD program in clinical psychology, a PhD and master's program in Developmental, Cognitive, and Affective Sciences (DCAS), and an undergraduate program in psychology. The requested area of expertise in speech language pathology is open. Candidates whose work bridges into one or more of our other program areas - Clinical Psychology and the DCAS program - are strongly encouraged to apply. Candidates will be evaluated on their potential to establish a prominent, externally funded research program and to excel in teaching and mentoring at both the graduate and undergraduate levels. The standard teaching load is two courses each semester.

    A PhD in Communications Sciences and Disorders or a related field and the certificate of clinical competence in speech-language pathology is required by the time of appointment (ABD applicants will be considered but must have earned their PhD prior to the beginning of the academic year). Candidates should submit 1) a cover letter, 2) a curriculum vitae, 3) a research statement, 4) a teaching statement that includes evidence of effective teaching, 5) a publication or writing sample, 6) a diversity statement, and 7) a list of three references. The one-page diversity statement should explain how one's research, teaching, and/or service have contributed to diversity, equity and inclusion within a scholarly field(s) and/or how individual and/or collaborative efforts have promoted structural justice inside and outside institutions of higher learning. This statement should also reflect on the ways in which the candidate's continued efforts will foster a culture of diversity, pluralism, and individual difference at Case Western Reserve University.
