The Corporate Accounting Shared Services team is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of the financial reports on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis. College Co-op Student Job Description:
The college co-op student will support the team with month-end close processes such as journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, various reporting, and special projects. Interacts with multiple functional areas within Corporate Accounting with an emphasis on National Business/Government and Fully Insured Revenue team. Participates in Corporate Accounting Town Hall meetings and events.
· Prepares Journal Entries for certain general ledger accounts.
· Reconciles certain general ledger accounts and performs routine inquiries to reconcile variances.
· Performs work in accordance with company deadlines.
· Actively participates in the completion of the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
· Assists in providing responses to questions and requests for information as it relates to certain general ledger accounts.
· Assists with special projects as it relates to certain general ledger accounts.
Required Skills:
· Accounting major preferred.
· Must have completed at least 2 to 3 Accounting classes.
· Intermediate to advanced in Microsoft Office especially MS Excel (i.e. MS Word, MS Power Point).
· Information Systems courses a plus.
· Good written and oral communication skills.
· Organized and detail oriented.
· Ability to stay on task and see things through completion.
