Requirements and Responsibilities

SVP of Manufacturing oversees an organization's manufacturing strategy, planning, and operations to ensure cost-effective production, high-quality standards, and continuous process improvement. Plans and oversees a manufacturing organization's production, scheduling, and supply chain operations. Being an SVP of Manufacturing plans and forecasts resource needs for equipment, materials, and workforce to ensure sufficient manufacturing capacity and adherence to budget constraints. Integrates operational safety, regulatory compliance, quality assurance, and cost control standards into all manufacturing processes. Additionally, SVP of Manufacturing researches and adopts process designs, technologies, and methods that improve operational efficiency or manufacturing quality and implements changes with minimal business disruptions. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to senior management. The SVP of Manufacturing manages a business unit, division, or corporate function with major organizational impact. Establishes/implements overall direction and strategic initiatives for the given major function or line of business. To be an SVP of Manufacturing typically requires 10+ years of progressive leadership experience. Has extensive knowledge of the overall departmental function.
