Requirements and Responsibilities

Reimbursement Services Specialist analyzes, maintains, and reports financial data regarding claims to third-party payers. Validates claim accuracy and payment amounts to ensure services correspond with appropriate coding and charges. Being a Reimbursement Services Specialist monitors claim processing and investigates denied or delayed claims to facilitate resolution and reimbursement. Develops and generates reports on claim statuses, reimbursement trends, and denial patterns to identify opportunities for process improvements. Additionally, Reimbursement Services Specialist requires an associate degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Reimbursement Services Specialist occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. To be a Reimbursement Services Specialist typically requires 2-4 years of related experience.
