Requirements and Responsibilities

Quality Control Supervisor I oversees and monitors the inspection and testing of materials, parts, and products to ensure adherence to established quality standards. Establishes inspection protocols, defines sampling procedures, and determines equipment and mechanisms to be used in the testing process. Being a Quality Control Supervisor I recommends changes in specifications of materials, parts, and products based on inspection results. May formulate and revise quality control policies and procedures. Additionally, Quality Control Supervisor I, a level I supervisor is considered a working supervisor with little authority for personnel actions. May require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Quality Control Supervisor I supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. To be a Quality Control Supervisor I typically requires 3 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. Thorough knowledge of functional area under supervision.
