Requirements and Responsibilities

Provider Contracting Analyst coordinates and evaluates the contracts of a healthcare provider network. Administers and maintains a contracts database system for a healthcare provider network to track, monitor, and record contract data. Being a Provider Contracting Analyst reviews contract details and pertinent data to assist in the negotiation of contracts. Analyzes reimbursement data to identify trends and discrepancies. Additionally, Provider Contracting Analyst prepares contracts and routine reports in accordance with regulatory and organizational standards. Calculates and analyzes various rate scenarios to forecast and evaluate rate setting strategies. Distributes contract information, status updates, and other information within the organization. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Provider Contracting Analyst occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. To be a Provider Contracting Analyst typically requires 2-4 years of related experience.
