Requirements and Responsibilities

International Sales Manager manages sales operations, programs, and teams to increase sales of an organization's products or services in international markets. Remains familiar with international variances in cultural and legal issues pertaining to sales. Being an International Sales Manager implements techniques, tools, and structures to support the sales process and meet defined sales metrics. Conducts goal setting for teams and individuals and uses data to measure and monitor sales processes, identify issues, and enhance performance. Additionally, International Sales Manager provides direction and leadership to ensure international sales activities align with the organization's greater vision, mission, and sales strategy. Monitors the industry, business environment, competitors, and customers to develop action plans for expanding and retaining the customer base. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The International Sales Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be an International Sales Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1-3 years supervisory experience may be required. Extensive knowledge of the function and department processes.
