Requirements and Responsibilities

Finance Director directs an organization's financial resources and ensures operations comply with financial regulations and standards. Provides guidance to all financial functions including accounting, budget, credit, risk, tax, and treasury. Being a Finance Director assists with budget development and provides oversight to monitor cash flow, control expenses, and manage debt. Develops financial modeling and analytical tools to measure and forecast the impact of various business scenarios, risks, and changes. Additionally, Finance Director develops processes, policies, and controls to define operational standards and ensure accurate, timely, and compliant financial operations. Requires a master's degree in accounting or finance. Typically reports to senior management. The Finance Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Finance Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.
