In June 2006, Zeecon began a new chapter in serving the Central Texas Area. Founded by Jim Crownover, a local individual born in Horseshoe Bay, Zeecon Wireless Internet L.L.C. provides high speed internet services to the Hill Country. The fast growing company utilizes Fiber Optic Transmission lines combined with radio links to the subscriber home or office. Zeecon, in alliance with the Lower Colorado River Authority provides free high speed internet service to local schools, libraries and community centers. This gives those organizations state-of the-art communications to carry on their educational and recreational activities. Zeecon is a locally owned business doing business with both the residential and business community at the speed of light. Jim Crownover is an entrepreneur who founded two different electronic companies and grew them both to more than one hundred million in annual sales. He was selected as the High Tech Entrepreneur for Texas in 1989. Jim was assistant director of the American Electronic Association for the Texas region for two years. He continues to be a member of the Engineering Advisory Board of University of Texas in Austin and Engineering Advisory Board of University of Texas in Dallas.
