It is one of the oldest and largest membership organizations in the Sacramento region. CIEF is a 501(c)3 organization working to empower youth to pursue careers in the built environment. In 2024, CIEF served nearly 15,000 high school students in five states. CIEF operates a chapter model and also has secondary offices in Irvine, California and Dallas, Texas. The joint organizations serve nearly 25,000 people annually at workforce, business development, and networking events, in addition to providing an online plan room, education and safety training, and government advocacy.
