St. Mary's Center's Homeless Senior Services provides services for low-income individuals aged 55 and older, who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. Most of St. Mary's senior participants live on SSI (Supplemental Security Income), a federal program for low-income people who are aged, blind, or disabled. The program provides a maximum stipend of $10,500 per year and recipients are not eligible for food stamps. This stipend is often the only income these elders receive. Our foremost goal is to help each senior find and keep housing. Social workers provide the intensive case management critical to helping our seniors improve their lives. Our staff includes licensed mental health professionals and recovery trained counselors.
