The group is made up of high school (9th-12th grade) aged students from Kent County that share a common interest in eliminating violence from our communities. The group meets to organize events, social media campaigns, movie screenings and meetings with community leaders. YLAV is mentored by the leadership of local agencies: Safe Haven Ministries and the Kent County Health Department. Being a part of YLAV provides the opportunity to be a leader and energize our community to take a stand against violence. By centering the voices of our youth we are empowering them to take charge of the futures they want to envision. Applications are now open for the YLAV school year 2020/2021.
