Rehabilitation Support Services, Inc. (RSS) was founded in 1979 and provides community-based mental health and substance abuse services to more than 3,000 individuals each year. The steady growth of the agency has been guided by its continuous commitment to quality specialized care and service innovation. All in response to the critical need for effective community mental healthcare. Our mission is to enrich and empower the lives of individuals with severe psychiatric disabilities and substance use disorders by providing services and opportunities for meaningful emotional, social, vocational and educational growth. Our goal is to improve the quality of their lives through recovery-oriented housing, work, treatment, socialization, and health and wellness services. Services include NYS Office of Mental Health (OMH) residential group homes, licensed and supported apartment living, care coordination and case management, supported employment and agency-run businesses, wellness centers, personalized recovery-oriented services (PROS), and a wide array of related support programs. Under contract with the NYS Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services (OASAS), we operate a residential facility, a shelter + care apartment program, and plans are underway for two additional residential facilities. RSS operates in 13 upstate New York counties through 5 service divisions. Our central office is in Altamont, NY.
