Highville Charter School, for the second straight year, is proud to offer our families an opportunity to learn about all of our school practices, expectations, educational/extracurricular programs and future initiatives through our Family Learning Nights (FLN) series. The FLN's are designed to invite parents to learn more about the happenings at Highville, while having the opportunity to participate in learning activities with your child. In addition to participating in these interactive programs, the full intent of these FLN's are to seek input from our parents and community members to help us make the best decisions for our school and community. As many of you are aware, every five years, Highville Charter School goes through the charter renewal process to continue our existence as a certified, charter school open choice program. This time around, due to our implementation of ninth grade in the 2013-2014 school year, we have asked to have our renewal visit moved up a year so we may request the addition of grades ten through twelve which will complete our Highville Change Academy. The Highville learning community seeks to promote and advance the intellectual, physical, social, and moral development of students in becoming responsible, contributing world citizens. Students learn to work and live together constructively respecting, honoring, and appreciating their own uniqueness and that of others. As we strive to implement our vision to provide a challenging, supportive and comprehensive educational program for our students, the foundation of our program is our Mission Statement and Program of Studies.
