Droste's Jewelry Shoppes are full-service, family-owned jewelry stores established in 1967 by Master Jewelry Craftsman Oscar (Ottie) Droste and his wife, Barbara. At that time, Droste's provided quality jewelry repair and custom jewelry design services to over 65 retail jewelry stores in southwest Indiana, Illinois and northern Kentucky. Droste's reputation for outstanding craftsmanship and quality service quickly spread to attract the interest of many Tri-state residents. In 1968, Droste's opened their first retail jewelry store to the public on the north side of Evansville and began providing quality diamonds, jewelry and watches at affordable prices to Tri-state residents. Since that time, Droste's has continued to grow. In 1981, Droste's opened a second location on the East Side of Evansville at the corner of Lincoln and Green River Road. In 1986, Droste's moved from its location in the North Park Shopping Center to a new free-standing location across from North Park. Today, Droste's has two beautiful Bavarian jewelry stores reflecting the heritage of the Droste name. From the beginning, Droste's has been the Tri-state's Home for Old World Craftsmanship and New World Design, offering jewelry and quality watch repair, custom jewelry design, gold casting, engraving and professional appraising. Droste's is a Registered Jeweler and member of the American Gem Society. The Droste sons, Gregory S. Droste and Timothy B. Droste are AGS Certified Gemologist-Appraisers and GIA Graduate Gemologists offering their clients the highest standards of gemological excellence.
