IUPAT District Council 21 is proud to provide career opportunities to apprentices and journeypersons in the construction industry and is determined to ensure the best wages and benefits for Painters, Drywall Finishers, Wall Coverers, Glaziers, and Glass Workers. The District Council 21 is recognized as one of the most active unions in the region for both its community service and member involvement. District Council 21s mission is to represent members for purposes of collective bargaining, to organize workers in a variety of occupations, and to advocate for workers and their families. The Painters and Allied Trade Union of Philadelphia consolidated in 1998 from the Drywall Finishers Local 1955, Glaziers Local 252 and the Wallcoverers Unions. Our merger has allowed us to provide a stronger, more effective team and to work collectively to benefit our members. The Apprenticeship program we offer is recognized by the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades. From the Pennsylvania Convention Center and Kimmel Center to large industrial sites, our journeyperson graduates have helped revitalize our region.
