Columbine Caregivers was founded in 1989 in Grand Junction, Colorado for the purpose of providing senior citizen assistance and in home care to residents of Western Colorado. Columbine Caregivers is recognized as one of the finest sources of in-home care in Western Colorado, having provided assistance to area families for over twenty years. Michael and Paula McCormick have owned and operated Columbine Caregivers since the spring of 2007, when they purchased it from its founder. Michael started his career in health care in 1980, with his assignment to Ft. Carson Army Hospital in Colorado Springs. After completing his military commitment, Michael became an administrator of senior retirement communities and nursing centers Michael is a member of the Grand Junction Downtown Rotary Club and is on the Board of Directors of the Grand Junction Symphony. Paula has been a gerontological social worker since 1985. She obtained her Master's degree in Social Work from Eastern Michigan University and is a licensed social worker in the State of Colorado . Paula has assisted clients in many settings: long-term care; hospice; home health and rehabilitation. Paula is also an active member of the Mesa County Elder Abuse Prevention Council. The offices of Columbine Caregivers are located at 602 26 1/2 Road, on the corner of 7th Street and Patterson, across from St. Mary's Regional Medical Center.
