In 1946 F. E. Childers founded Childers Concrete with three employees and two 2 yard mixers to serve the Thomasville area. However, after careful market analysis of High Point area, showing a strong future for a well run ready mix operation, Childers Concrete relocated to its present location. Childers Concrete opened for business in May of 1956 in High Point with 6 ready mix trucks and high expectations of growing and becoming the area's leading ready mix producer. Over the past 60 plus years, Childers Concrete has continued to expand by adding trucks to the growing operation. Childers Concrete is capable of supplying any amount of concrete anywhere in Triad. Childers Concrete employs in excess of 20 team members, which has and continues to make significant contributions to the community it serves. Sales have increased substantially over the years and Childers Concrete looks forward to the continued growth of High Point and the many surrounding areas. Being involved in nearly every major construction/concrete related project over the past 60 years in the area, we are proud to be a part of an organization, which continues to remain a leader in the ready mix concrete industry. In addition to ready mixed concrete, Childers Concrete became involved in concrete and construction products sales during the continued growing period. With different products, from rebar and wire mesh to color products and sealers, most any type of product can be provided. We believe providing as many necessary items for the customer, and providing "One-Stop Shopping" fits well in our industry. Since 1946, Childers Concrete has grown far beyond its expectations. Spending time partnering with customers, as well as team members has continued to push our company into the future. We attribute the growth of Childers Concrete to our basic philosophy of providing all customers with quality products and services by the best people in the business, while maintaining a culture of honesty and teamwork.
