Capital Garment Co. was created in Belgium Brussels, in 1926 by Joseph Cymbalista, who graduated as a taylor in 1921 in Poland. He created and sold outerwear in Europe till 1940 when World War II broke out. Arrived in the United States of America in 1944, Joseph decided to move in Montreal in 1945 where he revised Capital Garment Co. concept and made it a raincoat factory (for both men and women) located back then, on 460 Ste-Catherine West. Then when the Japanese flooded the market with plastic raincoats, we switched to women's wool coats and suits. For some years, we concentrated on the women's market, doing our own manufacturing. In 1956, Joseph started to integrate italian fabric in his collection and in 1960, for the first time, he decided to move part of his production in Korea. With the business growing, and in order to offer to his customers competitive price in the market, Joseph stopped his local production for the benefit of importing; keeping his local engineers and designers in house. Today, Capital Garment Co. - led by Joseph's son Armand Cymbalista(president of the company since 1966), in partnership with Arié Dahan - has grown up to become, with the "NUAGE" label, one of Canada's leading wholesalers of fine ladies outerwear, over the course of it's 66 years of operation and experience in Montreal. Capital Garment Co. also offers, exciting outerwear lines from "Nygrd Collection" and "Bianca Nygrd". Capital Garment Co. prides itself on supplying high fashion quality garments worldwide, that meets consumer's needs and surpass their expectations.
