We specialize in authentic quality artisan breads that transport your customers to the marketplaces of Sicily where our baking ancestry began. From Humble Beginnings: Anthony Dattolo was born in the city of Alcamo, in north western Sicily. Since age 10 he had worked as an apprentice for the town baker. In 1952, Anthony emigrated to Brooklyn, NY at the age of 15. Upon his arrival Anthony quickly established himself by working tirelessly night and day honing what knowledge he had at a local Brooklyn bakery, grasping the concept that baking bread is equal parts art and science. When his sons, Baldo and Joseph, were in their early 20s, the decision was made to join forces with their father to start their own business. In 1984 Anthony & Sons Bakery was born. Since both sons had worked in various aspects of the restaurant trade, and with their fathers previous experience, the baking business was a natural progression for the family. Anthony and Baldo baked the bread and Joseph hit the road selling product to restaurants and local markets. Through hard work, unwavering determination, and attention to detail the family steadily built the business. For many years, 14 hour days / 7 days a week was routine. As a result of this relentless effort, the Dattolos and their team now produce authentic artisan breads in a 65,000 square foot, state-of-the-art facility in Denville, NJ. We treat our employees and customers the same way we have for over 30+ years: like family.
