Position: Central Surgical Technician Type: Contract Location: New York, NY Schedule: Day shifts Flexible Pay Rate: 50 Overview: Surgical Tech will decontaminate, inspect, package, and sterilize equipment and devices used in the operating room. Requirements: High School Diploma or GED CSST Certification - required AHA BLS - required 2 years experience in sterile techniques, instrument identification, surgical procedures, and equipment required. Proof of full vaccination is required Staff is required for EVERY OTHER WEEKEND coverage in their schedule.

Responsible for assisting nursing personnel in giving quality care to patients in the operating room. Performs duties and responsibilities of a scrub person under the direction of a registered professional nurse. Assists in obtaining supplies, equipment and opening of operating and other rooms, as necessary. Breaks down setup and prepares instruments for sterilization. Helps transfer patients to the recovery room and cleans and restocks the operating room. Principal Accountabilities: 1. Checks and gathers all instruments for each case in assigned room with use of surgeon's preference card. 2. Checks sterility tapes, dates, and integrity of wrappers. 3. Opens sterile supplies for assigned cases, maintains a sterile field, and takes immediate action to correct any breaks in technique. 4. Performs surgical scrub techniques and gown and glove procedures for self and surgical team. 5.
