To become a UPS driver, you need a high school diploma, a valid driver‘s license, and to be at least 21 years old. You must also be able to drive a manual transmission, have no DUI or DWI in the past 3 years, and no license suspension in the last 3 years. Additionally, UPS delivery drivers must have excellent communication skills, be able to work in all weather conditions, have high physical stamina, work quickly and efficiently, lift 70lbs, be presentable, and have a friendly disposition. You will also need to pass a physical exam and be able to cover up any tattoos. If accepted, you will start as an entry-level employee for 2 to 3 years before becoming a permanent UPS driver. If you have experience as a delivery driver for another company, you may be able to become a permanent UPS package delivery driver immediately with at least 4 years of experience.
