The policy is rarely enforced, and the most common positions that require pre-employment drug tests are forklift drivers, pallet jack operators, truck drivers, and food preparers who use appliances or knives. Additionally, H-E-B is a smoke-free workplace and prohibits the use of tobacco or vaping products inside the building or outside of scheduled breaks.
