The Business Intelligence Analyst is responsible for simple to moderately complex data analysis, metric preparation, and visualization. The successful candidate will possess a strong blend of technical, analytical, data, and business proficiencies spanning Financial and Operational issue areas. They will serve as a critical bridge between data and analytics development and stakeholders to help optimize business operational performance. The ideal candidate will also have both a passion for and proven track record of implementing process improvements focused on leveraging modern technology tools and approaches.
Principal Duties And Responsibilities

The base salary range for applicants for this position is listed below. Unless actual salary is indicated above in the job description, actual pay will be based on skill, geographical location and experience.
$60,500.00-$123,400.00
Additionally, Unum offers a portfolio of benefits and rewards that are competitive and comprehensive including healthcare benefits (health, vision, dental), insurance benefits (short & long-term disability), performance-based incentive plans, paid time off, and a 401(k) retirement plan with an employer match up to 5% and an additional 4.5% contribution whether you contribute to the plan or not. Principal Duties And Responsibilities
- Build strong partnerships with stakeholders in order to develop knowledge of their operational areas including their workflow, business management systems and data.
- Work closely with stakeholders to refine requirements and validate output to ensure solutions will meet their expectations.
- Conduct data profiling and analysis to evaluate data sources to determine the best source for business information.
- Acquire, transform, and translate data into meaningful metrics, actionable dashboards, and database assets with moderate support from mentor and manager.
- Continuously develop and build upon existing knowledge of the insurance industry.
- Continuously develop and build upon existing knowledge of data stored in company databases.
- Develop strong partnerships with technology teams in DTO and Finance to ensure up-to-date methods and technologies are employed within the organization.
- Collaborate with data engineers to perform data validation and testing activities as appropriate.
