Position Summary:
This Position will be responsible for assisting the IT Department in providing technology solutions across multiple business functions within Sauder Manufacturing Co. to maintain software functionality and integrity. It will involve programing, developing databases, testing, and troubleshooting efficient and reliable technology interfaces to the user community
Write programming code and execute code builds to test and production.
Troubleshoot and fix bugs in existing coding.
Develop databases, programs and procedures necessary to integrate and/or implement the systems.
Provide assistance to design, program and execute test plans to develop, modify or upgrade applications.
Assist users and operating areas in implementing and supporting systems.
Install, modify and maintain systems and utility software on servers when needed.
Document applications and troubleshooting techniques.
Collaborate with team members making an effort to work effectively and cooperatively.
Develop secure code that can protect against potential cyber threats.
Write code that is clean and well documented.
Recognize and resolve system related problems.
Education and Knowledge:
Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Systems, related field or associate’s degree in a Computer field and professional work experience of at least 3-5 years. Manufacturing environment a plus.
Two to four years of experience in secure software development
Ideally strong background in software engineering, excellent problem-solving skills
Proven experience with OOP languages(Java, C , VB.NET)
Familiarity with HTML, JavaScript and CSS
AS400/IBM iSeries a plus but not required.
Understanding of object-oriented software engineering.
Working knowledge of SQL
Occasional evening and weekend work as well as travel to SMC’s three locations is required.
