There is an opening for a Wellness Coordinator in the Human Resources Bureau.
Starting Salary: $76,294.40 - $84,614.40 (based upon documented related experience).
Long term salary cap: $99,174.40
General Description of Duties: Under the direct supervision of the human resources director, the wellness coordinator will lead and manage a comprehensive wellness program to include coordinating, planning, and facilitating health and fitness activities and programs for employees, planning and implementing classes, speakers, seminars, personal training, and fitness assessment that promote healthy lifestyles, develop plans for wellness and fitness programs on a variety of topics including activity, fitness, healthy eating, stress management, resiliency, financial fitness, and healthy relationships throughout the agency, compile statistical summaries of participate data, class attendance, and equipment inventories to ensure proper detailed program evaluation, assist in the development of budget, polices, and procedures relevant to the operation of the wellness program, assist benefit staff as needed for large benefit initiatives to include annual benefits open enrollment, and provide educational presentations and training programs.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
• Bachelor’s degree in health education, psychology, counseling, social work, or a related field required from an accredited college or university.
• A minimum of 4 years recent related work experience.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Must have the ability to develop and provide promotional materials, workshops, and presentations on fitness, nutrition, and other wellness related topics.
• Must have the ability teach/present wellness classes in front of large or small groups.
• Demonstrated skill in the use of computer and office equipment required to perform position tasks.
• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to effectively communicate, both verbal and written, demonstrating awareness for human diversity to citizens and colleagues.
