Job Overview
Private, grassroots mental health agency has a progressive and intensive Employment Program that helps individuals with mental health, substance abuse, and learning disabilities find employment and maintain it. Agency seeks to hire an Employment Specialist 1, a professional position for an individual with excellent communication skills, that can work independently as well as work as an effective team member. It requires someone to work a flexible schedule, with evenings and weekends and demands a variety of skills and abilities . Applicant must be knowledgeable in job searching techniques, able to market our Employment Program to potential employers, must be able to use personal resources to advocate and gain employment. Applicant should be able and skilled in working with a variety of individuals who have significant challenges in their lives and have effective computer skills and knowledge.
Professional position, degree preferred. Looking for positive person with aptitude for creative interaction. Must be willing to work in the moment, structured days are rare with this position. Because this position requires a person to work in multi disciplines, the person must be an exceptional communicator with supervisor and all team members. Must be flexible with skills and work schedule for this position as the times required could change quickly. This job requires lots of follow through, the tying up of loose ends, and personal responsibility.

Responsibilities
- Conduct intake interviews to assess clients' skills, experience, and employment goals
- Develop individualized employment plans and provide career counseling
- Collaborate with employers to identify job opportunities and facilitate job placements
- Educate clients on job search strategies, resume writing, and interview preparation
- Provide training and mentorship to clients on workplace behavior and professional development
- Work with individuals with autism, developmental disabilities, and other challenges to support their employment needs
- Stay updated on employment labor laws and regulations
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Human Resources, or related field
- Proven experience in addiction counseling, recruiting, or related fields
- Strong interviewing and assessment skills
- Knowledge of training development principles
- Ability to work effectively with diverse populations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Certification in Employment Services or related field is a plus
