ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Our garage door technicians are responsible for troubleshooting garage door service calls and performing repairs, replacements, and scheduled maintenance of equipment based on customers' needs. A successful technician will promote our services and products in a professional, honest, manner. Specific duties include:
- Performing maintenance efficiently and effectively on garage door equipment including openers, springs, doors, panels, etc.
- Diagnosing / troubleshooting faulty equipment
- Projecting a positive and professional manner when interacting with customers and fellow team members
- Traveling throughout the coverage area during the workday.
- Driving safely and efficiently from point to point in service area.
- Proactively supporting our safety program and initiatives, complying with all safety policies and procedures, and ensuring utilization of safe work practices on-site, in the warehouse, and in the office.
- Performing work in a variety of customer environments including exposure to elements and in-climate weather.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- A minimum of a high school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.
- Mechanical and electrical skills required
- Troubleshooting skills required

LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to calculate basic math, read a tape measure, and do basic spring conversions.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Valid driver’s license required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 150 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Must be capable of working at heights to service doors and operators using ladders.
HOURS:
Monday-Friday. The first call is at 8:00 AM, last call generally between 4:00 and 5 PM. Rotational Saturday schedule – every 3 to 5 weeks.
