Patient Access Coordinator, Full-time, Rehab, EWCH, Murphy, NC

Job Summary: />Works with Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy, and ENMG departments. Serve as the patient service representative (PSR) lead to train and orient new PSR staff. Provide feedback/coaching when needed. Work with leadership to identify and lead improvement projects to improve operational efficiencies. /> />Receive incoming telephone calls in a prompt, courteous, and professional manner and greet and check-in /check-out patients in the same manner, coordinate patient appointments, and collect daily cash/check/credit card patient payments. /> />Works with PT/OT/ST departments to obtain insurance authorization for appointments. Prescreens patients and provides information to patients regarding payments and payment options. Assists patients navigate through the financial assistance process, including education and assistance to complete necessary paperwork. /> />Assists with the processing, escorting/transporting and setup of patients to treatment areas. May assist the therapists and therapist assistants with patient treatment, performing tasks in which competence has been established. /> />Maintains and tracks data for the inpatient and outpatient PT/OT/ST departments. Reviews data integrity and extracts errors. Reports data to various departments for compliance, accounting and operational excellence. Reviews billing/charge capture for accuracy and facilitates modification as needed. Reconciles charges and payments to create invoices for contract ENMG staff. /> />Education: />Required: />High school diploma or equivalent. /> />Preferred: /> />Experience: />Required: />Two years of experience in: customer service, training and project management/process improvement. They will serve as the PSR lead, and referral coordinator. They will also have duties of a patient care tech as appropriate. Additionally, they will be responsible for data management, some billing/charge capture review and leading projects to facilitate operational excellence.
