GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION
Drives operational improvements through analysis, design and solution implementation of existing and/or new processes throughout Club Car value streams. Value stream areas of focus will include material flow, line balancing, plant layouts, plant capacity, packaging, and product data management. The IE Manager will be engaged with existing products and new product introduction along with implementation of manufacturing documentation standards. This on-site position reports to the Operations Director of Engineering and Services.
Essential Job Functions:
· Applies industrial engineering techniques and concepts to improve operational efficiencies, eliminate waste, improve material flow performance, lower cost, and improve quality, through the application of Lean and other Industrial Engineering concepts.
· Uses engineering methods (e.g., mathematical models, simulation, statistics, value stream mapping) to support the development of optimal process designs and efficient utilization of resources (e.g., facilities, personnel, materials, material flow, equipment) throughout operations.
· Analyzes and designs value stream, including capability, capacity throughput, workflow and logistics (e.g., critical path, lead-time, transportation, factory layout).
· Collaborates with Manufacturing Engineering to improve workstation ergonomic design.
· Responsible for developing, documenting and implementing engineered labor standards, to include the creation of new processes and standards to drive maximum utilization of facilities and personnel.
· Owns and project manages the creation, processing and review of Bills of Materials (BOM), Engineering Change Notices (ECN), Deviations and Configuration Management activities by applying best Product Data Management (PDM) practices and principles during New Product Introduction (NPI) as well as sustaining efforts.
· Responsible for identifying and driving PDM process improvements through the establishment of reports, metrics and associated analytical capabilities.
· Improves the flow and storage of material into and through the facility to reduce waste associated movement and handling.
· Develops and documents staffing plans for each segment of the facility (assembly playbook based on products and rates).
· Initiates and implements cost reduction projects.
· Evaluates make-buy opportunities through the facility.
· Manages the Industrial & Packaging Engineering teams.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS
Education:
· Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical or related engineering discipline.
Experience:
· Ten or more years’ experience in manufacturing, supply chain and/or logistics required.
· Expert in development and implementation of lean material flow processes.
· Experience with presenting and working with senior leaders.
· Project management experience required.
· In-depth understanding of Enterprise systems architectures and Database structures, to include ERP, PLM and MES systems, and the ability to aggregate data for reporting and metric development. PTC Windchill experience and knowledge preferred.
· Strong computer applications skills (CAD, Simulation software, etc.…) and excellent attention to detail; quick learner with creative problem solving and analytical skills.
· Excellent interpersonal skills, professional attitude and approach (and the ability to interact with individuals at various levels of the organization).
· Success in developing teams and individual talent, and the ability to effectively train others.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills
· Travel is minimal and may include occasional visits to suppliers or other manufacturing facilities.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
· Work requires periodic stooping/bending and frequent walking/standing throughout day.
· Requires occasional lifting of objects less than 25 pounds.
· Work involves activities that require special safety precautions, e.g., working around moving parts, machines, or vehicles.
· Requires use of protective clothing.
