What are the responsibilities and job description for the Farm Park Supervisor position at City of Springfield (MO)?
The Special Facilities section within the Parks Department is looking for the next Farm Park Supervisor. If you have an energetic, creative, enthusiastic, love-to-teach attitude; this position is for you!
We are seeking someone with top-notch organization skills as well as strong verbal and written communication to successfully connect with schools around the area. This position will be responsible for developing engaging programs to be taught to a variety of ages, in addition to leading a team of Camp Counselors and special event staff. This position collaborates with the Farm Park team to plan breeding programs for livestock to coincide with the programs and events throughout the year. Generating ideas is a high priority for our team, so creativity, teamwork, and adaptability will be necessary for success.
This position will work a flexible schedule, including some weekends, evenings, and long days, as needed for programs and events.
About the Farm Park:
Rutledge-Wilson Farm Park is a 207-acre farm park designed to provide educational, as well as various recreational resources for the community and celebrate the rich agricultural heritage of the area. The park includes an animal barn, visitor's center and gift shop, farm-themed playground, demonstration crops and gardens, 20-acre native prairie and pastureland.

- Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree in agriculture, animal science, natural/environmental sciences, education, or closely related field;
- Directly related experience in developing and conducting interpretive, educational, or recreational programs may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.
PREFERRED
- Previous experience in a park setting developing and conducting site-based interpretive, educational or recreational programs;
- Previous experience working with farm animals.
