Summary:
The Nurse Manager is responsible for and performs unit management functions and fiscal management for the unit. Conducts and manages performance improvement activities, develops and monitors departmental policies and procedures. Monitors department payroll to assure adherence to policies by staff and eliminates unnecessary overtime. Establishes collaborative relationships with physicians. Recommends and implements changes in clinical practice or process based on clinical findings, multidisciplinary recommendations and research. Evaluates staff and identifies areas of performance excellence and areas regarding development.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Must be a Registered Nurse licensed in the State of Virginia or compact state; BSN required. Must have current BLS and ACLS. Professional certification preferred.
Education and Experience:
BSN required. Minimum of 2 years of nursing leadership experience. Previous Nurse Manager experience preferred.
