Master Data Analyst
Master Data Analyst
Purpose:
As a Material Master Data with medium-level expertise, you will play a vital role in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our organization's material master data. You will work within our materials management team to ensure that all data related to materials and products are properly entered, maintained, and updated in our systems. Your attention to detail and knowledge of data management best practices will contribute to the efficiency of our supply chain and overall operations.
Your Tasks And Responsibilities
Data Entry and Maintenance:
- Accurately create, update, and maintain material master data in our systems, including but not limited to SAP or other ERP systems;
- Ensure consistency and adherence to data standards and naming conventions;
- Obsolescence: Assess and manage the status of obsolete materials within our inventory, ensuring effective disposition. Guarantee all inventory status are up-to date;
Data Verification and Validation:
- Perform regular data quality checks to identify and rectify inaccuracies, duplicates, or inconsistencies within the material master data;
- Validate data inputs against established criteria to ensure accuracy;
- Investigate and resolve data discrepancies and errors, working closely with stakeholders to ensure data integrity;
Material Classification:
- Assign and maintain material classifications based on product attributes and usage;
- Identify the correct allocation of the new materials;
Vendor Data Coordination:
- Collaborate with procurement and vendor management teams to ensure that vendor-related data, such as supplier codes and lead times, is correctly linked to material data;
Documentation and Records Management:
- Maintain comprehensive records and documentation related to material master data, including data change requests and approvals;
Data Governance and Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with data governance policies and procedures;
- Assist in the development and implementation of data governance best practices within the materials management department;
Reporting and Analysis:
- Generate reports and analyze material data for trends, inconsistencies, or areas requiring improvement;
- Provide insights and recommendations based on data analysis;
User Support and Training:
- Provide support to end-users on material data-related inquiries and issues;
- Assist in training new team members or end-users on material master data processes and tools.
Who You Are
Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Data Management, or a related field;
- Medium-level expertise in material master data management within an ERP system (e.g., SAP);
- Understanding of data governance principles and best practices;
- Strong attention to detail and data accuracy;
- Analytical mindset with the ability to identify data-related trends and issues;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and software (e.g., Microsoft Excel).
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of supply chain and procurement processes;
- Certification in data management or SAP.
Employees can expect to be paid a salary between $64,000.00 to $98,000.00. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant). Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc.. This salary range is merely an estimate and may vary based on an applicant’s location, market data/ranges, an applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
