This will be discussed during the interview process. He needs a candidate with knowledge of, and background in, data entry/research, a relevant skillset, and/or a strong desire to learn.
Candidates that have been rejected on the grounds of overqualification have had extensive resumes with high-level degrees or many certifications in higher-level IT functions.
The manager is concerned that hiring someone that possesses a skillset much larger than the scope of this position will eventually lead the worker to find another position and not stay for the full contract.
The MRO Data Analyst will work on improving Clients database for maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO) items like motors and bearings. This involves cleaning up data, removing duplicates, and filling in missing information.
Key Responsibilities Include
- Finding and fixing inaccurate or incomplete data, often through internet research or using resources provided by suppliers and manufacturers.
- Sorting MRO items into different categories.
- Checking if MRO items already exist in our system, then updating data or making new records as needed.
- Using our tool "Integrity" to add new items, update items, and make changes.
- Meeting goals set by the Project Manager.
Deliverables
- Up-to-date and accurate data in place of incorrect or missing information.
- Correct categorization of MRO items, and important details added.
- Data from old records included in our item details.
- Relevant extra data added to new and updated items.
- Items needing more research identified and noted.
- Weekly/monthly goals met as set by the Project Manager.
