To be a Cost Estimation Engineer typically requires 2-4 years of related experience.

The Costing and Estimation Engineer works under the guidance of the Senior Road Engineer with technical guidance from the Head of Engineering Section.
The Costing and Estimation Engineer will prepare an up to date unit rate analysis for civil works, participate in designs and technical documentation produced by the Road Design Unit, and specifically designs and reviews drawings, specifications and work methodologies according to AASHTO and MPW Design standards to ensure most economically efficient design sections and materials are adopted.
