Let’s get one thing straight right off the bat: moms are priceless. We know this. It doesn’t matter if we’re talking stay-at-home moms or career moms who seamlessly balance work and family -- it’s impossible to truly quantify everything mothers do on a daily basis. And because they make it all seem so effortless, it’s easy to take their contributions for granted.

That’s why every year for the last 12 years, Salary.com has surveyed thousands of mothers across the country to figure out which jobs they spend the most time on and how many hours they work in a week. Then, using our extensive salary data, we figure out how much mothers would earn annually if they were actually paid for the work they do. Is it an exact science? Of course not. But anything that brings to light the hard work of mothers is a good thing.
