    POSITION SUMMARY:

    This position supervises/manages the Senior Center Managers, Intake Coordinators for Meals on Wheels(MOW) and Summer Food Program Staff. Oversees the site level implementation of agency/program policies and procedures, outreach plans, and social service activities. Oversees the operation of menu selection/meal counts for Senior Centers. Maintains relationships with social service agencies and healthcare organizations to provide a continuum of care for participants Provides training to kitchen staff, meal site staff and volunteers, tracks kitchen purchases, monitors the sanitary food. Oversees the staff for the Summer Food Service Program(SFSP) in Belknap, Merrimack and Grafton Counties. Areas of responsibility include senior centers, wellness initiatives and nutrition programs.


    POSITION RESPONSIBILITES: 

    • Oversees and manages MOW Community Service Coordinator in areas of eligibility and assessment process as defined by the funding source. 
    • Manages the Center Managers in compliance of CAPBMCI agency policies and procedures as well as funding source regulations. 
    • Oversees the fundraising initiatives at all Senior Centers and other fundraising initiative as assigned. 
    • Ensures that adequate systems and records are maintained for documentation of client eligibility, services provided/received and billed. 
    • Performs the usual duties of a manager, including interviewing, hiring process, scheduling, training, supervising, evaluating and developing subordinate staff, and resolving employee problems; assigns tasks to maximize individual and team performance; ensures compliance with Agency policies and procedures.
    • Enhances public awareness of the department’s programs and services and the needs of older adults through media, speaking engagements, and other opportunities.
    • Maintains involvement in the aging field as a whole. Approves the participation in coalitions, councils, committees, and membership organizations addressing elder services.
    • Attends conferences, trainings and collaborative association to increase awareness of the need for funding for MOW participants. 
    • Oversee the approved SFSP menu with kitchen staff and ensures the provided menu is utilized with no alterations.
    • Oversees the implementation and maintenance of sanitary food practices in accordance with State and local requirements in all programs.
    • Oversight of staff and volunteer training, compliance with NH State Board of Health, USDA and NHDOE guidelines. 
    • Maintain strong communication with kitchen, meal sites, Program Coordinator and Program Director for summer SFSP.
    • Attends conferences, trainings and collaborative association as applicable to Elder Services and SFSP.

    • Present a professional and positive image as a representative of CAPBM.  
    • Follow established policies and procedures and comply with all safety requirements.
    • Communicate proactively with the supervisor regarding workflow, problems, suggestions, etc.
    • Contribute to a positive, team-oriented work environment; and attend team and staff meetings as scheduled.
    • Be punctual for scheduled work, use time appropriately, and complete work in a timely fashion with minimal errors.

    Requirements

    Experience:

    • Three years of experience with personnel supervision and management/team player.
    • Ability to translate broad goals into achievable steps.
    • Ability to plan, organize, direct and evaluate the work of others (including hiring process, supervision, performance management of staff). Ability to train and coach staff.
    • Ability to communicate well orally and in writing.
    • Ability to collaborate among all community, regional, state, and federal groups.
    • Good interpersonal skills, openness and flexibility in working with diverse groups, enthusiasm for working collaboratively on community issues.
    • Proficient in MS Office software.
    • Ability to learn applicable client software database. 
    • Volunteer management experience preferred.
    • Experience with public relations and marketing tools.
    • Ability to monitor policies and procedures as outlined by the Agency and funding sources.
    • Ability to work independently, exercise judgment and problem solve.

    Education:

    • Bachelor’ Degree in social work or a related field. Education requirement may be substituted with an additional six years of experience working with older adults.

    License/Certification:

    • Successful completion of criminal record check.
    • Valid driver’s license with access to reliable transportation for required travel.
