Transportation Director directs, develops, and implements overall operations of a transportation network including safety, compliance, equipment, and staff. **Job Overview:**
We are seeking a skilled Tranportation/Maintenance Director to oversee the maintenance and transportation operations of our district. The ideal candidate must have a clear and valid Kansas Commercial Driver's License (or will to take the training to obtain one), with the Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements. Applicants must also have the ability to pass ranadomU.S. Department of Transportation alcohol and drug tests and annual physical exam.
**Duties:**
1. Coordinates and supervises maintenance of school buildings and grounds to ensure full and productive use of district facilities.
2. Assumes responsibility for the overall planning and scheduling of maintenance and repair.
3. Makes purchase recommendations for necessary equipment and supplies for building and grounds.
4. Establishes and upholds safety requirements regarding maintenance and transportation · across the district.
5. Meets with building principals weekly to discuss any needed repairs/maintenance. ,
6. Determines which repair jobs may be performed by district staff and which must be performed by outside contractors.
7. Examines all facilities on a regular basis for purposes of preventative maintenance and safety.
8. Inspects all school buildings, grounds, and installations on a regular basis to determine that high standards of workmanship, cleanliness, safety, and security are maintained.
9. Coordinates all bus/vehicle transportation schedules for the district.
10. Performs maintenance and cleaning of all district transportation vehicles.
11. Schedules work routines for custodians as needed, with administrator input.
12. Complete other duties as assigned by the superintendent.
