Our Sydney-based client is a successful venture capital investor and asset management firm with an enviable track record investing in Australian and New Zealand global software and advanced technology companies.

As a key senior hire, you will report to and work alongside the founder in further developing the firm’s IR/Distribution function, lead capital formation and fundraising activities for the firm’s new and existing strategies. Your focus will be to lead and maintain dialogue with both existing and new potential sources of capital, with your key responsibilities being:

• Drive growth in funds under management through maintaining relationships with existing investors, but also through expanding investor reach across High Net Worth (HNW), Private Wealth Management (PWM) & Institutional investors
• Lead fundraising for new strategies / funds
• Lead the strategy, planning, development & execution of all investor relations initiatives for the firm
• Design, implement & lead the firm’s fundraising strategy including a long-term strategic plan for fundraising initiatives

The successful candidate will have sound academics (appropriate tertiary qualification, CFA highly regarded, adviser compliant) with 10 years’ experience gained in blue-chip financial services environments and display the following:

• Strong existing relationships within the target investor channels (Institutional, Family Offices, HNW and PWM) in Australia & the APAC region
• Proven ability to build & cultivate new & existing relationships across sophisticated investor groups
• Be a self-starter with an ability to act in an entrepreneurial environment & operate autonomously
• A demonstrated ability to think strategically about best market approach & how to use your understanding of industry trends to unlock potential new opportunities for my client
