  • Position Summary

    Hilltop RISE (HR) seeks an Executive Director with a passion for urban redevelopment and revitalization. Reporting to the HR Board of Directors, the Executive Director (ED) will be responsible for the overall strategic oversight and operational management of HR. This includes developing and nurturing partnerships, overseeing associated programs, driving organizational growth, and executing HR’s mission of fostering a vibrant, prosperous, and growing Hilltop.

    As a private economic community development corporation (CDC), we are committed to the mindful economic growth and development of The Hilltop. The ED will serve as the chief spokesperson and advocate for HR, acting as the primary liaison with community partners and financial supporters, including corporations, foundations, and public agencies.

    Position Responsibilities

    Leadership & Vision

    • Advise HR Board of Trustees and provide leadership
    • Serve as the public face of Hilltop RISE, actively engaging with the corporate, civic & political sectors of the community
    • Utilize a narrative budget approach to communicate data-driven results to stakeholders
    • Prepare grant proposals to support & expand program development
    • Cultivate relationships with a wide variety of individuals & organizations
    • Solicit sponsorships and donations in alignment with the strategic plan
    • Monitor governance to stay in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
    • Explore commercial development opportunities, including acquiring and managing properties for HR.
    • Manage and maintain current programming

    Marketing & Communications

    • Oversee brand management- not limited to website and social media
    • Maintain regular e-newsletter and communications to stakeholders
    • Publish annual Impact Report
    • Plan and execute activities to encourage community support around local retail
    • Build a culture of collaboration and encourage retail growth among businesses
    • Serve as spokesperson for the Envision Hilltop Plan in the Hilltop

    Education: Bachelor’s degree & applicable professional experience

    Experience:

    • Direct experience managing budgets with multiple revenue streams
    • Project, program, and/or grant management
    • Real estate development direct experience or knowledge a plus
    • Community engagement experience

    Skills and Qualifications:

    • Ability to lead, show initiative, work independently & on teams
    • Excellent analytical skills & attention to detail
    • Public Speaking
    • Strong aptitude for technology
    • Canva or other design software
    • Strong communication skills
    • Ability to multi-task and work under tight deadlines

    COMPENSATION AND APPLICATION PROCESS

    A base starting salary in the mid-$70s and a benefits package appropriate to the qualifications and experience required for the position are offered. An effective Executive Director should be able to increase the resources of Hilltop RISE along with their compensation.
