Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: Full-time, irregular working hours Monday thru Friday. Weekends may be required based on customers need.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
A Fiber Optic Construction Supervisor is responsible for managing, supervising and supporting the construction efforts for our aerial and underground fiber optic construction requirements with emphasis on FTTH projects with emphasis on Quality Control.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
· the ability to work safely, with or without supervision.
· the ability to follow instructions and communicate verbally and in writing.
· Completion of low level and high-level labor-intensive tasks as well as operation of assigned construction equipment.
· Completion of daily production reports to document work performed.
· Additional Construction Supervisor and Quality Control Duties as assigned by management.
KEY REQUIREMENTS:
Must have construction experience in FTTH.
Must have experience supervising work crews.
Must have experience in fiber optic quality control.
Must be able to read prints.
Must be able to do ride out.
Must be proficient to read and understand “asbuilt documents”.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Must present a positive, professional image to employees, customers, and clients in all interactions.
Must have strong communication skills and experience working with customers.
Must have a strong working knowledge of basic hand tools.
Have problem-solving skills and able to think on your feet.
Have a good working knowledge of computers.
Ability to work evenings and weekends.
Must have a valid driver’s license during the term of employment.
Must be able to pass a nationwide background check and drug screen.
Must be able to obtain DOT Medical Certification
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
This position has supervisory responsibilities.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Exposure to varying temperatures as work is primarily outside.
Noise levels are moderate to heavy.
Work in different types of terrain including water, sand, and dirt.
Varying degrees of light as work may begin early morning and continue in the evenings and overnight.
PHYSICAL AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to carry 60-70 1bs, to include an extension ladder.
Must be able to work at 28 feet or higher.
Must be able to work in all weather conditions.
Must be able to bend, stand, sit, crawl, climb and lift throughout work shift.
TRAVEL
Travel from home with multiple overnight stays is required with this position.
REQUIRED EDUCATION
Minimum High School Graduate or equivalent.
