Overview

Advanced Technologies and Laboratories (ATL), a Planned Systems International company (PSI), referred to as ATL is seeking a junior level Architect to join our team at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory in Golden, Colorado. This position will be a hybrid role. 

Essential Functions and Job Responsibilities

• Review and coordinate in-house and outsourced design projects by reviewing and developing. Statement of Works, Construction Drawings and Specifications. • Review and provide design and technical solutions for a variety of project types and sizes at NREL campuses and leased facilities based upon NREL standards, user requirements, IBC and NFPA codes.• Assist with construction administration of fast-track construction projects.• Assist with estimating project costs to help establish reasonable baseline budgets and schedules including contingencies. • Assist with investigating, creating, and documenting NREL standards and guidelines for material finishes, life safety, campus master planning, buildings, and workspaces.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor's degree and 5yrs experience.

• Knowledge and coordination of building systems including electrical, mechanical, fire safety, and sustainability.• Ability to analyze existing project conditions, costs of similar past projects, and research project materials as needed.• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and MS Office Suite.• Proactive, passionate, well-organized, and detail oriented.

Citizenship: Due to the federal nature of the work, a U.S. Citizenship is required.

Desired Qualifications

• Previous laboratory design and/or remodel experience.• Experience with BIM/REVIT.
