SURVEILLANCE SUPERVISOR implements policies and procedures for the surveillance department. Ensures compliance with gaming requirements set by state gaming authority and local law enforcement. Being a SURVEILLANCE SUPERVISOR supervises and evaluates surveillance employees. Safeguards the assets of the organization. Additionally, SURVEILLANCE SUPERVISOR reports improper activity or disturbances to security team for further investigation. May require an associate degree or its equivalent. Typically reports to a manager. The SURVEILLANCE SUPERVISOR supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. Thorough knowledge of functional area under supervision. Position Qualifications: High school diploma or GED equivalent required, plus six months to one year experience in surveillance, formal security, or law enforcement training, schooling or certification strongly preferred. Experience in computer science, money-handling, or loss prevention is a plus. Other combinations of education and relevant experience may be considered. Must be able to read, analyze, interpret and comprehend technical procedures, government regulations, instructions, and correspondence/memos; write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals; effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers or staff, guests and the public. Maintains confidential information. Proficiency in Excel and word required. Must be able to formulate and communicate ideas.
Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations: Virginia Racing Commission License
Physical demands: Interior work in a darkened room with other surveillance personnel. Must be able to monitor multiple computer screens, operate surveillance software and equipment, which includes computer hardware. Must be able to sit most of the shift. Will use hands to manipulate equipment to move cameras and be able to use computer keyboard year-round.
