Job Details
As a Permanent Structural Engineer, you will be a crucial member of our dynamic engineering team, responsible for the design, analysis, and inspection of various structural systems. You will be working on a broad range of projects, from commercial and residential buildings to bridges and infrastructure. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about problem-solving and has a keen interest in design and construction.
Responsibilities
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to- Designing, planning, and overseeing the construction of new buildings and bridges, as well as extensions or alterations to existing structures.
- Conducting structural analysis and design using software such as Revit and Finite Element Analysis.
- Preparing and presenting detailed reports and design statements based on structural specifications, codes, and standards.
- Working collaboratively with architects, construction managers, and other engineers to ensure the structural soundness of various projects.
- Incorporating seismic design principles into your work to ensure structures can withstand earthquakes and other natural disasters.
- Performing site visits and inspections to monitor the progress of projects and ensure compliance with design specifications.
- Providing technical advice to project stakeholders and resolving any structural issues that may arise during construction.
- Continually updating your knowledge and skills in line with advancements in structural engineering technology and practices.
To be considered for this role, you must have- A bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering. A master’s degree would be an added advantage.
- A minimum of five years of experience in structural engineering, with a focus on building design.
- Proficiency in using engineering design and analysis software such as Revit and Finite Element Analysis.
- A solid understanding of seismic design principles and their application in structural engineering.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to explain complex engineering principles and methods to non-engineers.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and creatively to develop innovative solutions to engineering challenges.
- A professional engineering (PE) license, or the ability to obtain one within a specified timeframe.
- The ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, meet deadlines, and work under pressure.
- A commitment to maintaining high safety standards and complying with all relevant regulations and codes.
