Strategic Sourcing Manager
This role will drive efforts to consolidate and optimize spend across business units, analyzing data, identifying and evaluating opportunities to decrease costs and working closely with senior leadership to implement saving opportunities.
What Do You Offer Us?
- Analyze and evaluate spend across Mears business units, understanding key spend areas and items and identifying spending and pricing trends to manage exposure. Utilize multiple sources of data to ensure full picture of spend
- Evaluate areas of specific spend, with opportunities to save money via:
- Identifying unnecessary spend areas (eliminating waste)
- Securing / utilizing volume discounts with key vendors
- Directing spend to lower cost vendors
- Take ownership of overall spend of organization, driving savings opportunities, negotiating with key parties and maximizing value for the business
- Identify key spend categories to develop improved pricing protocols
- Develop KPIs and targets for spend rationalization and secure support from business units
- Secure leadership buy-in on savings priorities, providing analysis to help leaders understand opportunities within units to reduce spend and proposing policies and procedures on items to sole source or strategically source to improve alignment
- Partner with other functions to ensure priorities are aligned
- Work with parent company to ensure we are utilizing partnerships with major vendors, help negotiate additional discounts and volume reductions

- Compensation Range: $120,000-$140,000

What is Required?
- 5 years experience in strategic sourcing, logistics or related field. Preference to candidates with experience in construction or energy industries
- Strong data analysis capabilities, utilizing multiple data sources and systems
- Ability to build relationships with business leaders and peers
- Ability to work independently on ambiguous tasks and take initiative to identify problems and opportunities and seek solutions
- Strong communications skills and ability to influence others
- Ability to travel as needed - 25%
- Advanced in MS Excel
- Proficient in MS Office Applications: MS Word & MS Project
- Proficient in financial practices and principles.
- Bachelor s degree in Supply Chain Management, Construction Management, Engineering or similar degree track preferred.
- MBA or other financial background also preferred.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
