Staff Nurse - RN - Oncology jobs in Arkansas
Staff Nurse - RN - Oncology provides professional nursing care to assigned oncology patients. Records patient histories, performs various diagnostic tests, administers medications including chemotherapy, and develops patient care plans in conjunction with other medical professionals. Being a Staff Nurse - RN - Oncology assists oncologists during examinations and procedures, operating and monitoring medical equipment as necessary. Observes patients' progress and records observations in patient medical records. Additionally, Staff Nurse - RN - Oncology teaches patients and families about conditions and treatment options. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in nursing. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. May require ONS/ONCC certification to deliver chemotherapy. Requires a valid state RN license. Staff Nurse - RN - Oncology's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. Location: Arkansas
Position: Stepdown
Responsibilities:
- Manage patient pain relief and sedation by providing pharmacological and non-pharmacological intervention, monitor patient response and record care plans accordingly.
- Work with EKG monitor technicians to evaluate and interpret EKG strips.
- Interpret laboratory results and cardiac tests, and proactively educate patients in health promotion and disease prevention.
- Initiate intravenously therapy, administer medications, provide care for post-operative open-heart patients and post cardiac catheter patients.
- Maintain responsibility for clinical activities of all nurses caring for patients assign, prepare annual evaluations on all nurses assign.
Certifications - Required
AHA BLS - Basic Life Support Certificate
AHA ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certificate
AHA PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support CertificateEducation - Required
Graduate of accredited Nursing program
Experience - Required
1 - 2 year Acute Care Experience and/or experience congruent with role in service line
Licenses - Required
