Duty Description The Office of Inspector General (OIG) is an independent office that is headed by a Senate confirmed, Presidentially appointed IG,
and reports directly to the Director, National Reconnaissance Office (NRO). The OIG safeguards public trust by promoting integrity,
accountability, and sound management practices through objective and independent oversight of NRO programs and activities and
keeps the Director, NRO fully informed of vulnerabilities in the organization, while also reporting to Congress, as appropriate. The
incumbent provides direct support to the Inspector General in the performance of these duties.
The National Reconnaissance Office, Office of Inspector General is in search of a highly skilled and motivated officer to support the
OIG Front Office. The OIG is a high volume, fast-paced office requiring its members to promote cooperation among individuals and
teams. The nature of this position demands a high degree of autonomy and latitude in planning, organizing, and decision making to
support the Front Office. The individual selected to serve in this position must also possess the ability to effectively communicate
across all levels of management.
The selected individual will be given their own portfolio and will provide support to the Inspector General and Deputy Inspector
General through guidance from the Principal Support officer and the Chief of Staff. This position aligns to the Management Service
Division which is the platform for all support activities and functions in the NRO OIG. The incumbent will report to the Principal
Support officer and the Chief of Staff and will be a part of a three person support team assisting with general administrative
functions for the OIG.
Major Duties :
The selected individual will assist with supporting the Presidential-Appointed Inspector General, the Deputy Inspector General, and
all other senior level officials within the office. This includes calendar management, determining the importance of the issue for each
meeting, following protocol procedures to effectively schedule meetings with full discretion to resolve scheduling conflicts regarding
IC IG, ODNI, CIA, NRO, and any other IC meetings as necessary.
In support of the executive staff, maintain awareness of executive priorities, style, and preferences, and adapt support roles and
routines accordingly; maintain proficiency in administrative business process and enabling applications, tools, etc. (HR, finance,
travel, security, training, etc.). This includes becoming familiar with the NRO Cadre process as the incumbent navigates through
supporting several different elements at the NRO OIG.
Incumbent will assist with ensuring technology support is provided for office-wide meetings. This includes testing equipment prior to
external visits in preparation for meetings / briefings. In addition, the incumbent will send out messages to the workforce with dial-in
information and connectivity instructions.
Incumbent will assist as necessary with processing, formatting, proofreading, and editing documents to ensure clarity and accuracy;
provide guidance to others on proper preparation and routing of correspondence.
Incumbent will assist with processing travel, both domestically and internationally, and associated documentation (cover, visas,
etc.), drafting and processing travel requests and accounting.
This position requires the ability to assist with timekeeper responsibilities for Cadre members. In addition, incumbent will
maintain their own portfolio including : records management, GPC accounting / purchases and onboarding.
This position requires comprehensive knowledge of the concepts, principles, practices, procedure and requirements of the Principal
Support / administrative arena. Incumbent must possess excellent interpersonal skills to include tact, political savvy, and ability to be
discreet.
Incumbent will be working in a fast-paced and constantly changing environment. The incumbent will be required to attend IMPAC
training shortly after arrival at the OIG, if the incumbent has not yet completed such training.
