Shipping and Receiving Clerk assembles orders and prepares goods for shipment. Receives, unpacks, inspects and stores incoming materials and supplies. Being a Shipping and Receiving Clerk uses shipping records to verify the accuracy of incoming and outgoing shipments and orders. Documents damages and discrepancies for future reimbursement and reconciliation. Additionally, Shipping and Receiving Clerk typically requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Job Objective and Responsibilities:
The objective of the Shipping Clerk is to ship all possible orders accurately and on time or early. Also, to receive shipments in and distribute them to the proper department/person.
Responsibilities include verifying counts, packaging, processing orders. Other responsibilities include receiving shipments, sending orders to OSS vendors, keeping
Stock rotated, executing Change Orders.
This position requires a person that has above average attendance. It is also a fast-paced environment that requires focus and independent thinking.
Job Tasks:
Ship Orders– Match up Order Confirmation with traveler, count order, package order,
Process order using instructions on Order Confirmation.
Receive shipments– Log in any incoming shipments and deliver them to the appropriate
Department or person.
Rotate Stock– Dump oldest stock and replace it with previous day’s stock from QC.
