Safety Specialist jobs in New Mexico

Safety Specialist implements, manages and monitors safety programs, policies, and procedures that meet OSHA and other applicable requirements. Evaluates the organization's procedures, facilities and equipment by conducting inspections to identify unsafe conditions and to implement safeguards and solutions. Being a Safety Specialist ensures the organization complies with all current safety regulations and that all employees are aware of safety requirements and are prepared to follow safety procedures. Collects data and reports on all safety and accident events. Additionally, Safety Specialist may have additional responsibility for fire prevention, hazardous waste management, resource conservation, or other safety related activities depending on the industry and location. May require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Safety Specialist occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. To be a Safety Specialist typically requires 2 -4 years of related experience. (Copyright 2024 Salary.com)

  • Duties include providing program oversight for safety-related compliance processes and programs, specifically in ISNetworld, Veriforce, and Avetta platforms for various external clientele.

    Policy/program development, administration, and maintenance. Primarily responsible for the successful design, development, and management of client-specific written safety programs and overseeing policy compliance.

    Serve as the client liaison for external customers concerning various oil and gas safety programs and policies, mitigation plans, external audit preparation, coaching, and mentoring, including various other client requests.

    Work closely with in-house Safety Trainers to ensure client and employee safety compliance is current and ongoing for customer access.

    Knowledge in tracking and maintaining industry regulatory compliance CFR, OSHA, NFPA, ANSI, and other oil and gas regulatory agencies, combined with exceptional grammar skills and attention to detail, will be highly required. Responsible for remaining current on policy and regulatory changes.

    One year of experience with ISN or Veriforce is preferred.
