  • About Us:
Radio Greeneville Inc. is a vibrant community radio station dedicated to serving the people of Greeneville and its surrounding areas. We are committed to providing engaging content, fostering community connections, and celebrating local events and initiatives.

    Job Description:
We are seeking a dynamic and creative individual to join our team as both a Reporter and Social Media and Website Content Director. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in capturing the essence of our community through covering events, photography, storytelling, and social media engagement. Your primary responsibilities will include attending community meetings and sports events, capturing compelling photos, crafting engaging stories, and interacting with our followers across various social media platforms. To be clear, this is not a social-media-only position. It's a big part of it, but it is just one component of the opening.

While we are a group of radio stations, on-air experience is not necessary, and the position may not even require those skills. We hope to create content for our newscasts, announcers, website, and social media. If you want to have a go at talking on the air, we can work that out, too.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Attend community meetings and sports events to capture high-quality photos and videos.
    • Write engaging stories and articles about the events, highlighting key moments and community insights.
    • Manage and curate content for our social media channels, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and more.
    • Engage with our audience in a timely and personable manner, responding to comments, messages, and inquiries.
    • Update and maintain our website with fresh and relevant content, ensuring a user-friendly experience for visitors.
    • Utilize your skills in photography, editing, writing, and website design to enhance the overall quality of our content.
    • Collaborate with other team members to brainstorm ideas, develop strategies, and execute campaigns.
    • Occasionally serve as an additional voice for broadcasting or reporting from special events, showcasing your versatility and adaptability.

    Requirements:

    • Strong writing skills with the ability to craft engaging and informative stories.
    • Excellent communication skills and a friendly, approachable demeanor.
    • Experience in photography, with a keen eye for detail and composition.
    • Proficiency in photo editing software (e.g., Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom) to enhance and refine images.
    • Knowledge of website design principles and experience with content management systems (e.g., WordPress, Squarespace).
    • Familiarity with social media platforms and trends, along with a demonstrated ability to grow and engage an online audience.
    • A proactive and creative mindset, with a passion for storytelling and community engagement.
    • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment with minimal supervision.
    • Availability to work evenings and weekends as needed for event coverage.

    Bonus Skills:

    • Experience in broadcasting or journalism.
    • Proficiency in video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro).
    • Graphic design skills for creating social media graphics and promotional materials.

At Radio Greeneville Inc., we believe in the power of storytelling to connect people and build community. If you're a creative individual who enjoys capturing moments, engaging with others, and making a positive impact, we want to hear from you! Join us today and be part of something special. Apply now to become our next Journalist and Social Media and Website Content Director.
